Marge Bleiweis, MEd

Marjorie (Marge) Bleiweis is a restorative justice facilitator and trainer as well as a Supreme Court of Virginia certified mentor mediator. She retired in 2008 as the Conflict Resolution Specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS). She developed peer mediation programs and worked to promote Restorative Justice (RJ) in the school system.  Her experiences include training staff, mediating disputes, facilitating RJ conferences, training new RJ facilitators, and developing school programs.  During Bleiweis’s tenure with FCPS, she also worked as a school counselor and peer mediation coordinator.  Marge helped develop and coordinate the FCPS’s Northern Virginia Regional Student Mediation Conference .

Since 1990 she has been mediating with the Northern Virginia Mediation Service.  In Virginia, she is a court-certified mediator in General District Court, Circuit Court-Family and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court.  She mediates family, court, and community disputes.  Bleiwei serves on NVMS’s Restorative Justice Task Force.

Bleiweis received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education from the University of Maryland.  Bleiweis has taken additional coursework and training through George Mason University.
