Susan Shearouse Training Scholarship
Upon her retirement in 2013, NVMS launched the Susan Shearouse Training Scholarship in honor of her work and dedication to a more peaceful community.
The scholarship awards financial assistance to individuals who share Susan’s vision and enthusiasm for helping people resolve their differences in a collaborative way. Without your help, these talented individuals would not be able to take advantage of NVMS’s exceptional skill-building workshops.
Susan Shearouse is one of the founding members of NVMS. She is a recognized leader and inspiration to all of those she has trained, coached, and collaborated with throughout her career. Along with being an NVMS senior trainer and supporter, Shearouse has served in positions with a variety of Conflict Resolution organizations such as National Conference on Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution (NCPCR), the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS), and the Georgetown University’s MBA program. She served for 10 years on the Advisory Board of the School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University and is a Board Member of the Institute for Multi-track Diplomacy. She is the author of “Conflict 101: A Manager’s Guide to Resolving Problems so that Everyone Can Get Back to Work.“ Her career speaks volumes of her commitment to advancing the field and her passion for helping people learn to address conflict in a constructive way.
