Fairfax, VA (April 13, 2021) — NVMS Conflict Resolution Center is pleased to introduce Abigail Blatt as its new Court and Community Programs Coordinator. She starts on Monday, April 19, 2021.

Blatt comes to NVMS CRC with a rich experience and training in ADR. As an intern with Resolution Systems Institute in Chicago, she assisted in developing a pilot family and divorce online dispute resolution platform. She also interned at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services where she managed a Shared Neutrals Program and led a Basic Mediation Skills curriculum. She helped to promote the national book tour for Connecting with the Enemy, (University of Texas Press, 2016), a book on peacebuilding in Palestine and Israel, by Sheila H. Katz, Ph.D. More recently, Abigail Blatt was Guardian Ad Litem for the 18th Judicial District Court of North Carolina.

In addition to Blatt immersing in deep onboarding process, emerging priorities for the Court & Community Programs include acclimating NVMS CRC mediators to the mediation case management platform launched by the Fairfax General District Court, managing the increasing number of court-referred and private cases, solidifying processes and systems for commercial, workplace, landlord/tenants, and HOA/neighborhood disputes, and supporting the expansion of the restorative justice/Alternative Accountability Program.
Abigail Blatt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communication from Principia College and a law degree from Elon University School of Law. She has secured 150 hours of ADR training since 2015. Email Abigail at ablatt@nvms.us.
